Did you know it is asparagus time? My sister just picked these from our garden. Have you ever seen an asparagus plant? I'll show you. Well, actually you can't see the asparagus plant because it is under ground. All you can see is the asparagus coming out of the ground. I am doing this off an app on my moms' iPad. The pictures we took are probably not going to show up until the end of this post. But it is still cool.

Science center
The other day we went to the Louisville science center. It was really fun. They had a training capsule used to teach astronauts how to fly in space. We all got in it, One at a time that is. We also watched an Imax movie called Animalopolis. That' a mouth full. They had a special area for kids 7 and under. Luckily Shelby and I were allowed in. They had a huge airplane that we played in. It had real airplane seats in it and lots of nobs and switches in the cockpit. There was even a bus with a real bus dashboard and money collector. It was cool. There were 4 floors. A guitar museum was on the first floor. It was last thing we saw. We should have brought the camera because there were lots of great photo opportunities. Like Andie wearing a nurses outfit and cap. Have you ever seen that scrunchy hat nurses wear? She had one on. She looked like she was going to bed in little house on the praire. It was funny.

Newer babies
We once again got new baby chickens. Except these are meat chickens. They don't get names just numbers. They weigh about as much as our other new chickens (that are 2 months older than them). The meat chickens are FAT. Here are some pictures of the babies.
This is 1.
He is solid yellow.
These are 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 they are yellow.
They have a very small wing span.
They like to hang out around the feeder.
After 10 weeks we have to kill them.
:(
I'll try not to get attached to them.
They are just now getting wing feathers.

Lost chickens
Last night my dad went to do the chickens. There was only a few minutes of daylight left. When he got there the babies were all under the coop except for one, she was in the garden. The baby chickens are at the stage when they can squeeze through the fence into the garden. So he caught the little chickens and stuck them in the coop. He did not see any big chickens anywhere. He started calling and calling them because he thought they were in the woods. The reason he thought this is because he heard a lot of noise in the woods. It didn't sound chickens he said. So he called my mom and told her the story. We were on our way home from our grandparents house. Dad said he would keep looking for the big chickens. It was about 8:30 and almost dark. I was not happy and praying in the back of mom's van. About ten minutes later Dad called my mom back and said that the big chickens were all on the roosting bars in the top of the coop the whole time. When we asked him how he didn't see them up there. He said that when he put the nine baby chickens in the coop they never said a word. So he didn't think they were in there. The noise from the woods was probably coyotes is what he said.
I was very glad that all my chickens were safe.

Garden
Me and my mom got the garden planted the other day. We have onions, peas, garlic, cabbage, lettuce, brocoli and spinach. Hopefully no chickens get in it. That would be bad. Here are some pictures of our garden.
This is the lettuce.
These are garlic.
This is the brocoli.
Thes are cabbage, we have two beds of cabbage.
This is one of our new baby chickens. They really aren't new anymore. They aren't really babies anymore. They are middle chickens (I just made that up). They are getting their feathers and so they look wierd.
My sister is holding it.
My mom says they look like they have something wrong with them.
This is a video of a chicken squaking.

Poison Ivy
Last week we burnt some old peach trees. Unlucky for us they had poison ivy on them. Every body was breaking out except me and Cole. Then I started to break out. But that only happened for about 8 hours? My moms' arms, stomach, and back are covered in it. It was all over thier bodies because we breathed it in through smoke. My mom, dad and my sisters each got a shot to help them. Me and Cole didn't have to get one luckily.

Thinking animals
This is a little something I just whipped up.
"Leave me alone."
"Anyone home?"
"You'll never take me alive!
Oh, you already did. "
:(
"Must get food."
"Food!"
"Chicken daddy!!!"

Hairy cat
Sophie has lots of hair on her face but none on her body. She has no hair on her body because she is constantly licking her self. On her face she has over grown eye lashes and whiskers.
Here is Sophie.
Here is Sophie.
This is Sophie.
You can't really see her whiskers so lets move on.
Sophie again.
Next!
Here's a good one.
She looks freaked out.
Do you think she is happy or mad?
"I'm thinking."
"So be quiet."

Horses
We went to a through bred horse farm yesterday. We rode horses, held cats, pet dogs and ate food. Here are the pictures.
This is Shelby on Starbuck.
This is me on Starbuck.
I learned how to drive a horse.
It is so soft.
This is me holding a barn kitten.
We got gas at a gulf gas station.
We also saw a real drive-in theater.
For dinner we had lasana, salad and bread.
There was chess pie for dessert.
We played flashlight tag at dark.
It was fun aside from the 2 hour drive.
I slept and sweated on the way back.
It was fun,

Babies
We have some new additions to our family. Can you guess who. If you can't guess here are their pictures. Enjoy!
"Eat eat, we must eat."
"Jump into the screen is what I must do."
"Hello chicken daddy!"
So can you guess what they are?
They are chickens.
Cute and adorable baby chickens.
Everybody loves them at my house.
I haven't trained them with the chick, chick, chick method yet.
I need to do that.
They seem to like their new home.
Here are the names,
Spark Jr.
Cheeper,
and Peep.
We should name the rest when you can tell them apart.
They are cute but they won't be quiet.
It is constant peep, peep, peep, peep, peep, peep, peep, peep.
One of them has a devious little mind.
He keeps on pacing around the cage trying to get out.
One of them has found the roosting bar and is constantly up there.
They love being hand fed.
I do that and they will stand on my hand.
My mom says they want to scratch and peck.
Baby chickens don't like banana or marshmallows.
When they peck my hand it tickles and hurts at the same time.

Karate
I do karate at the Y comunity center in La Grange. Kung fu is what I am doing. It is really embarasing. You have to bear crawl which is when you run around on your hands and feet. There is the crab walk, the hula hoop, etc.
You know the thing you do when you straighten out your leg and try to touch your toes with your hand. That has left me sore from Saturday to today. When I say sore I don't mean hurts to touch it. I mean unable to walk, run, go up and go down stairs without severe pain.
I wonder how long it will last.
