Decorating

Christmas is coming to fast.  To fast.  Faster than last year.  Which is to fast.  I decided I should put up some pictures of the decorations in the house.  Here we go.

This is the tree in the basement.
Every year us we get out three little trees that we put in our rooms.  (The kids.)
One in the girls', one in mine, and one in my brother's.
This year since the girls aren't sharing a room they each got an individual tree.
I got this.
I'd say it was a pretty good trade.

Here is the desk in the school room.
Decked out with stockings, music boxes, and pictures.
All Christmas of course.

Here is a little nativity set.
Good to have a reminder of what this is all about.

The fireplace is always the most spectacular thing.
And of course the tree.

New run in

Dad and I are building a new run in.  It is in the second field for Crumple.  It is so that we can dry up Faith because Mom and Shelby are done milking her.  We got Crumple the nose ring but it didn't work so now the run in is being built.  So far we have the frame up. Now we just need to put on the plywood.

Who here has heard that song "Do you hear what I hear."?  I think that is what it is called.  That song is weird.  Don't think so?  Watch this.

See!
Weird song.
Merry Christmas.

Mockingjay

Who here likes the hunger games?  I do. Shelby and I are going to see mockingjay on Thursday.  We've seen both the other movies. But the part that kind of stinks is that it is mockingjay part one. Part one!  Oh well. At least there will be another one to watch later on.

As you have probably read on my sister's blog Crumple got a nose ring. It has a pad with spikes on the front. Supposedly it keeps the calf from nursing.  Only the smart ones figure out how to still nurse with it. Crumple is smart. So his little piece of jewelry didn't work.

I need to start Christmas shopping soon. Christmas is in 22 days. Only a day over three weeks!  Big fun!

Christmas

Well it is almost the end of the year.  And we all know what that mean.....  Christmas!  Shelby and I decorated the Pawn Shop today.  It looks great.  And very Christmassy.  Is that a word?  Any how....  Christmas music is playing on the radio and we are going to get our decorations out later this week!  Big fun.

We just had our uncle and his sons out to deer hunt.  It was fun.  We played a lot of games.  And went to bed early. Now they have left and we are recovering from the weekend.  But like I said it was fun.

Stuff

Today Shelby and I are going to lunch with our grandparents.  It is really great that we get to go eat lunch with them.  They will be here within the hour.

Shelby and I also built a big box fort in the break room of the pawn shop.  I am glad no one needed to get by.  That would have been difficult.  But lucky for us no one did.  Then we hedge hogged it.  Then I got in trouble for hedge hogging it.  Oops.  Now all the boxes are put away.

Hopefully I can get all my school done before lunch.  Maybe if I work fast.....  Math won't take that long.  Science hopefully won't.  hmmm....

Vampire pixies.

Shelby was bitten by a vampire pixie.  I think.  It went like this.
All of a sudden I heard a shriek. Shelby was screaming "Something bit me! I was bitten!  Someone bit me!  You bit me!"  At that point I had seen where she was bitten. I thought she had poked holes in her hand with a pencil. She thought that she was bitten by a leprechaun. Then I came up with the revelation of the vampire pixie. It all added up.  There is no other possibility. It is the only explanation.  Shelby was bitten by a vampire pixie.  That or she was leaning on my zipper to my coat and it made a tooth pattern on her hand.  But I don't think so.

Parker and Shelby.

P.S.
Look out for vampire pixies. And leprechauns. And angry coat zippers.

Chicken slaughter umpteen

Well we just lost two more roosters to the death stick. (Gun)  Dad got the 22 rifle and bam! Bam!  two dead chickens.
I don't have pictures on this computer.
You should be able to find them somewhere on my blog.

Wayne was first.  Dad called him and Wayne came over like a good little chicken.  Then, BLAM!!
He is dead.  I didn't stay around to watch Teenyball get murdered.  So now I am VERY upset and I will NEVER see those chickens alive again.  I hate that part.  Hmmph.   Well, at least there is still Foghorn Leghorn and Shuck.  And 18 other hens.  Poor roosters.

The eggs are coming along good though.  Yay.  One time we got a whole dozen of green eggs.

Party

Well. My little sister's party is tomorrow. Shelby and I are going to see a movie tomorrow with our grandfather.

The pigs are officially at the slaughter house. So now the next time we see them will be as bacon and pork chops. Yum. It was a huge project getting them in the trailer. Apparently pigs don't like concrete.  They wouldn't touch it.  But apparently you can back a pig up anywhere if you shove it's head in a bucket.  So that is what we did.  It worked.  Before that we tried all sorts of methods to try to get them to move.  Which I won't mention because some of you might get a little upset. Lets just say that I'm glad I wasn't one of the pigs then.  Tee hee.  So now they will be turned into yummy bacon to eat. I love bacon.

Newz

My little sister's birthday is coming up!  I would tell you what I got her but she might read this and find out. So it is a mystery!  It is currently pouring and I am sitting in the back of the pawn shop with nothing but school food and movies.  And a wii.  So here I am blogging.

This is Shuck, Wayne and Riley going to the fair.
Poor Wayne.  He is going to die now.
Him and Teeny Ball are going to get executed because they are gangsters.
They are the biggest chickens, so they think they are the big bosses.
Goofy birds.
Bum bum bum!
We are keeping Shuck and Foghorn Leghorn.
Yep.  Foghorn is a big white rooster.
Hence the name.

Shuck

You all know Shuck right?

The little Bantam rooster with the attitude.  He chases ATVs.  Yes he does.  He has a habit of attacking the wheels.  He even attacked the go-kart. Yes the go-kart.  He runs up to you and starts cock fighting the wheel.  Funny and scary I know.

We recently had one of our cousins over for a few days.  Their moms' dad is not well so we got her for a few days.  It was fun.  She and Andie caught a turtle and a frog.  They painted the turtles' shell and named it "Shooting Star".  Yeah  The turtle has been set free now though so that's good.  The turtle was probably half dead when Andie let it go.  Poor turtle.  That turtle will probably turn up in about 2 years with a painted star on it's back.  We have had that happen before.  We found "Prince", Shelby's favorite turtle.  Cool right?  We have also caught the same possum twice in a trap.  That possum was ugly.  Ticks and mange and little bumps all over it's body.  Shelby named it "Lilly."  Barf!  It looked more like a Bruno.  Not a Lilly.  The second time we caught it I put it out of it's misery.

Guess what came through the pawnshop.  A ninja sword.  Oh Yeah!  And now it is mine!  It has four hidden knives and the sword.  Pretty cool.  Even has a sheath.  although it is near impossible to get it out of the scabbard (I guess you would call it that).  But it is still awesome.  For Halloween I'm probably to old so I think I am going to wear the sword, jeans, and a shirt that I am going to get that says, "Will be quiet for $100.  Will be awesome for free."  Pretty cool.

Cat meet bath

Yesterday my sister bathed the cat.  She hated it.  The cat that is.  She hated it.  When the cat tried to climb out she just turned the water on and got even wetter.  Unfortunately I didn't take pictures.

WE also got this go-cart.  Our cousin gave it to us.  We had to do some work on it.  The band that turns the wheels broke so we replaced it.  The brake pad are shot so we replaced them.  Unfortunately we are probably going to have to order a whole new brake system.  But the go-cart is awesome!!!!  It can go 65 Mph.  Reeeeeeealy fast.  We have the governor set so it won't go that fast.  Mainly because my sister would end up wrapping it around a tree.  Tee Hee.

Things not to do to your sister(s).

Here are some things not to do to your sister(s).  Some are from experience.
No direct eye contact.  She might take this the wrong way and think you re challenging her.
Don't drop concrete blocks on their fingers.  That happened ON ACCIDENT!!!!  Her fingers were in the way.  Turned her into a squeak box.
Don't slap her.  She will slap back....... Harder.
Don't spray them with squirt guns.  They will spray back......  Or tell mom.
Don't turn your back on them.  It might end in disastrous pain.
Don't bother them while they are reading.
Follow this chart and you will have a happy life with your sister(s).
Or you can do what I do and defy everything and make each day a fight for survival.  Survival of the fittest, and whoever has on the thickest shirt.

Mom hit an ATV

Ok.  A few day ago my sister and I were playing in the loft of the cow barn.  We used a 4-wheeler to get some stuff up here.  When we came back down I left the 4-w in the driveway.  I thought we would be going back up to the cow barn.  Nope.  We get in the house and mom says we are going somewhere. (I can't remember where.)  So I forgot about the 4-wheeler.  Big no-no.  So mom is backing out of the driveway and we hit something.  Everybody screams.  I think I squeaked.  So Mom is freaking out because she hit the 4-w.  I'm freaking out because I thought Dad was going to kill me.  Mom calls dad and tells him she hit a 4-wheeler.  And she said she didn't think it was anybody's fault. Whew.  Close call.

Apple festival

We had the apple festival last week.  It is mainly just some booths set up and lots of junk food.  Fun!  Here are some pics.

Welcome to the apple festival!
A big fat money sucking black hole!

We've got tractors!
How about that pink one?

Apples!
Nutritious and delicious.

Carmel apples!
And charity.  While my sister was fishing coins out of her purse to buy a  $3.50 Carmel apple some old guy came and bought it for her.  Why does she get the free stuff.  I know, because she looks innocent.  She may look innocent but she isn't.  If you lived with her you'd know what I mean.

And a big slow tractor parade!
We got stuck behind the tractor parade on the way home.  Whee.

Dove hunt

Saturday was the dove shoot.  My aunt and uncle were there from Florida,  We just had a big family get together.  We swam and ate and it was fun.  At the dove hunt I only killed two.  But that is better than nothing.

We got a new calf.  His name is Crumple and he is so cute!  He is a Brown Swiss.  They make really good meat cows.  He is going to get big fast.  We got him from the animal auction.  When we put him in the field with Faith she seemed okay with him and now he is filling out from all that milk.

The chickens are laying up to 6-8 eggs a day. I am so happy!  Now I can sell eggs.  Mom wants me to put away a lot of money this year.  Fun.  huh.

School

New Song has started back up.  That means Tuesdays and Thursdays at the pawn shop.  And blogging.  Today I am babysitting my little sister as I type this.  She is currently reading "Lassie come home."  There was a little error on the My new blog page.  It accidentally sent you to a different site.  But I fixed it.  Yay me.

We have this tall green chair in the kitchen.  This may seem random but the next part is kind of funny.  My cat never gets off of it.  You know, Sophie?  She loves it.  She sits there all day and naps and licks herself and naps....  She loves it.

We have this little Bantam rooster named Shuck.  He is hilarious.  He likes to run behind 4 wheelers.  Don't know why. He just does.  He's been hit twice.  He jumped up in front of the 4 wheeler slammed into the front and went out the back.  He got back up and kept chasing. Goofy bird.

We got a dog!

Well. I haven't posted in a while so let's get you updated. All the guineas are dead. Actually one went to live with our neighbors but he disappeared. The chickens are growing and two of the roosters have started crowing. But the hens aren't laying eggs yet.

Now for the dog.
His name is duke.
He is a basset hound.
He is four years old and lived most of his life as a stray.
He is underweight and eats puppy food to fatten him up.
All in all, a perfect dog.

The sausage himself!

Did I mention he had a PHD in sleeping?

Happenings

We get to go to our grandparents house on Thursday.  HOORAY!!!  It has been too long.

We moved the baby chicks out to the barn.  Never again will I have chickens in the house.  It makes everything harder.  You have to be extra careful and clean up everything.  At the barn you give them food, water, and you are done.  Plus they stink.  Not fun.  They made the entire basement stink -  miserable, especially when the Wii is in the basement.  But I moved it upstairs.  We lost a Guinea.  Poor guy.  Here is a record of the chicks we lost and how they died.

About twelve (I lost count) were dying a slow death & I put them out of misery with my 22.
Loki  Got too wet and was hopeless.  Pulled head off.  ;(
Favio.  Got too wet and died
4 brown iso-something-or-others.  May have gotten Bronchitis.  Shot.
Lacy  Was sick and got shot.
2 Brahmas.  was sick and just died.
Bigfoot.  Got too wet and died next day.
Wellsummer.  Sick and got shot.
Honky the Gunea.  Just died for an unknown reason.

So sad,
Parker

Guineas

We got guineas! guineas are game birds that eat ticks. As babies they look like this.

Cute right.  They are very soft and very loud.  My sister named one, Honky.  Very original.

This is a full grown Guinea.

Quite a dramatic change right?  My Guineas are still babies.  But they will grow.  When they grow up they get louder.  And they never stop screaming.  Some of my friends have guineas.  They are loud.  Guineas are native to Africa.  And they can practically fly.  They don't fly like a goose.  They don't fly like a chicken.  They fly like a chicken-goose cross breed.

Baby cheepers!

W went to Rural king this week and got..............  Baby chickens!  We are so excited!  Due to the cold weather the babies are in a box in the house.  That makes it all the more fun.  Good news right?  Right.  Now the bad news.  We "ran a  test" on the adult chickens for bronchitis.  They have it.  We are trying to find a home for the hens.  It isn't looking good.

Here are some pictures of the new chicks.
This is my sister's chicken Hestia.
Mom wanted something that went with Spark, my sisters other chicken.
Hestia is the Greek goddess of the hearth.
So it worked out.

Chickens.

More chickens.

This is lacy.
She is very weak.
She won't eat and we have to use a dropper to get her to drink.
I think she is going to die.
We will see.

Parker

Back to school

Well.  Winter break is over.  Time to get back to school. After tat long break it is hard to get back in the flow.  Ugh.  Really hard.  I have a particularly evil science lesson today.  A study guide.  I don't take the test.  Just the study guide.  I already got math done.  Yay!

But Friday will get here soon enough.

But until then school reigns supreme. :(
Can't wait until summer.
We have been getting too much snow.  It is miserable.  Snow is only fun when you are playing in it.  Not when you have to work in it.  Especially when it gets rained on.  Then it turns into slush.  4-wheelers don't do well in slush.

Valentines day. (Censored version)

My sister did a post labeled Valentines.  Got to www.themilkinparlor.blogspot.com to view it.

This is another version.  The dangerous kind!

Why do we celebrate Valentines day?  Because of this guy called St. Valentines.  Not much is known about him except that he DIED on Valentines day.  That is about it.  One version says that he died a martyr. A martyr is someone who died for his belief in God.

And people love chocolate that come In heart shaped boxes.  Good thing the hearts look like this.

And not this.
So there you have it.
Happy Valentines day.

Frost's bite

It has been extremely cold lately. We have about six inches of snow at my house.  Plus the negative degree weather.  Means crazy cold!  There was a wreck in the woods next to our house a few days ago.  The driver was a 17 year old girl and she was driving her two younger brothers.  She went off the road into the woods up at the peach grove.  There were 3 hospital helicopters.  She only broke her legs and her brothers were unharmed.  Thank goodness!  So she'll be OK.

Here are some pictures of the snow.
The big barn and garden.

The cow barn.

Our house.

Catching fire!

Today, my sister and I are going to see Catching fire with our Grandpa!  We are totally pumped!  He will be here at 11:00 A.M. but it is 10:30 A.M.  Oh boy!  Catching fire is the second movie in the hunger games series.  Now it is 10:31!  Oh boy oh boy!

We got some snow but thankfully it is melting.  I am done with snow.  And school.  I WANT SUMMER!!!  Oh well.  Good things come to those who wait.

Stuff

My mom sprained her ankle in June 2013.  It is the end of January 2014.  Right now she is trying to apply for a disability parking permit.  She is in a walking cast and it hurts.  Mainly she has been sitting on a couch playing candy crush saga.  That is the new I pad game.  My mom says I should be a foot doctor.  NO!  Not a chance.  I already don't like feet.  So no.

We decorated Mom's cast for her.

Shelby got an I touch.  She is very excited.  We got to go see, The Hunger Games Catching Fire, with our grandfather.  I am sooooooo happy!  It was awesome!
